Seed Company Prayer for Thursday
Every year from November to June the people shut themselves up in their houses during the long, fierce winter. Though they open their homes in warmer weather, they have been shut up in a spiritual darkness year round for generations in bondage to a major religion. A translation team came to the area in October 2002. Though people in the area strongly oppose the Christian message, the people welcome Christians who are engaged in educational and medical work. This is being used as a bridge to Bible translation.
- A young MT couple is doing the translation. Pray that the family will stay healthy in a difficult environment.
- The Bitoh translation team met with some government officials in the area. They felt that those meetings had a positive effect on the overall tenor of the project situation. Thank God for mysteriously opening and closing doors when the time is right
- An acceptable pattern for the Bitoh dictionary caused a long debate over the issues, with opinions remaining somewhat divided. When the translators prepared a sample dictionary with the three scripts, people in the community were pleased with the result. Praise God for the agreement that was reached
