Prayer Focus
Seed Company Prayer for Friday
God’s Word only came to the Dagria people about 10 years ago, and now 10 percent of the population attends 15 village churches. The rest of the population continues to interweave their traditional animistic religion with every part of daily life. They are still guided by many of their ancient superstitions, including a prohibition on speaking a spouse’s name for fear of terrible evil—even the possibility of death. The harmony, love and family stability of many new believers has attracted people. Still, the local church is in great need of a truly accessible copy of God’s Word, so that they can grow in their faith and share it with their family, friends and neighbors. The believers support the translation effort, and church services are now being held in the Dagria language.
- Praise God that Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians in Dagria are now ready. Pray for good impact on the people.
- Thank the Lord for enabling the translators to reach their translation goals. Pray for clear understanding for the Thamats and Rahnis, translators, as they discuss the meaning of Scripture and seek to render it accurately and meaningfully. Pray that God will give the team insight to revise the Scripture drafts, for printing, after consultant checks.
- The key translators are glad that the 2007 Scripture calendar they designed has been widely accepted by people in the Dagria area.. Thank God for exposing people to His Word through these Scripture calendars. Pray that the calendars will interest Dagria speakers in reading the Bible.
