Renewed cultural passion has opened the door for Bible translation. Though the cultural revival is strongly anti-Christian, it has motivated Christian believers to use this unique window to reach the Branchu people with God’s Word in their own language. Branchu translators have now drafted all of the New Testament, and the books are in various stages of checking and revision. Some have already been distributed in trial form. The team is also distributing some gospel tracts, the JESUS film, a Branchu hymnal and literacy materials.
- Pray that the Branchu team can keep up the pace and complete the revision of the remaining books of the New Testament by the end of this year. Using commentaries and other helps they worked hard to make sure that the meaning had been translated accurately and that it communicated clearly.
- Thank the Lord that the biblical terms workshop produced an increased vision and understanding of the translation task.
- Pray that many, like a local schoolteacher, others will continue to understand God's truth more clearly and grow spiritually.
