Ripe and Ready for God's Word

Most of the Suba live on the islands and shores of Lake Victoria in Southwest Kenya. Many still practice the traditional religions involving ancestral spirit worship. The people are ripe and ready to receive God’s Word. Newer churches with Suba pastors are experiencing much growth as they conduct their worship in Suba. More and more Suba people are becoming Christians and taking hold of the task of pastoring and teaching in their own language.

  • The Suba team has had a busy time with consultants checking five New Testament books. Pray for a smooth completion of the final checking phase of the Suba New Testament and preparing the book introductions.

  • With the finish line ahead, the translators are working with Suba pastors as they brainstorm about ways to put the newly translated Scriptures to practical use in congregations and homes.

  • Pray that as the Suba New Testament is almost ready to be published and released into the hands of the church, more and more growth spiritually and numerically will be evident.
