Ragar of India
The 100,000 speakers have farmed their lands and lived in fear of spirits for many years. Efforts to evangelize them have been met with great resistance. Although the few Ragar believers are persecuted, they still stand strong in the midst of suffering. Bible translation began in 1981 with a dedicated single woman. Over the years as others have joined her, they translated 505 of the New Testament in spite of opposition. Momentum is increasing as a young Ragar couple now plans to join the translation team. The team has ambitious plans for Scripture use and literacy development
- Praise God that His grace is sufficient and that He has allowed the team to accomplish tasks that seemed impossible in their own eyes.
- Pray that the translators won’t encounter obstacles to meeting their deadlines to complete work on the Ragar New Testament.
- Pray that the Ragar team will have an extra measure of wisdom in making translation decisions about biblical terms in these final months before typesetting.
- The national Bible translation organization in this country is facing challenges, pray for the board chairman and those responsible for guiding this organization. Pray that God will intervene to bring understanding and unity between the leadership and members as they discuss various issues.
