Nyungwe of Mozambique
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace. (Numbers 6:24-26, NLT)
Most of the Nyungwe speakers live in the NW Tete province near the Zambezi River Basin. The two large neighboring people groups, Chewa and Shona, have Bibles, but Tete’s dominant language is Nyungwe, with Portuguese used for wider communication. About 30 percent of the Nyungwe-speakers claim to be Catholic, and up to 40 percent claim to be evangelicals.
Local churches, mission groups and The Seed Company plan to produce a “Growing Bible,” where large portions of Scripture are made into booklets and audio recordings for churches to distribute. While literacy programs are in full swing, Scripture recordings are a big hit and necessary for some to fully grasp the Scripture meaning.

-
Pray that God will guide the team as they work on Genesis and Exodus, and that He will guide them as they read through the Joseph story in Genesis.
-
Pray for the team’s wisdom as they begin their work on Hebrews, and that they will be strengthened in their faith.
