Strategic Opportunities

Nyarafolo speakers of Côte d'Ivoire

The “JESUS” film will be a key tool to bring many to the Prince of Peace once Luke is completed for the Nyarafolo speakers of Côte d’Ivoire.

For he raised us up from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms—all because we are one with Christ. (Ephesians 2:6, NLT)

The Nyarafolo people are weary of political unrest and outbreaks of violence, which started in 2002 and continue in Côte d’Ivoire. As they quietly toil, thoughts turn toward the future. They’re taking steps toward “reinforcing,” “defending,” or “saving” a strong cultural identity, by translating songs and improving literacy and schooling. The Nyarafolo yearn to see their children stand tall, even in a tough social climate, where larger neighboring groups wield more power.

Plans are to translate the New Testament, Exodus through Deuteronomy and selected Psalms. The “JESUS” film will be a key tool after Luke is completed.

  • Though war is over, many are in great need because of scarcity of food and aid. Ask the Lord to open avenues for food and other aid to reach those who need help. Pray for a good and peaceful solution to the crisis in Côte d’Ivoire, one that will bring an end to violence.
  • Scriptures available in audio format is a high priority for the Nyarafolo team. Pray that audio recordings in Nyarafolo will deepen the faith of believers and lead non-believers to Christ.
  • Thank the Lord that the long-awaited Gospel of Mark is ready to print. Ask God to keep translators healthy and focused so they can complete work on Matthew and Luke as planned.
