Majukayong of The Philippines
In the 1980s, one man from a neighboring people group read the newly translated Scriptures in Balangao—his heart language. He accepted Christ and his heart began to burn for his neighbors, the Majukayong, who number about 10,000. They were lost just like he had been, without the Bible in the mother tongue.
In 2002, this man, Ignacio, and his wife Luth began to translate the Bible for the Majukayong. Their goal is to complete the New Testament and portions of the Old Testament by 2012.
-
Pray for Ignacio as he trains to become a translation consultant so he can help other Bible translators in the Philippines.
-
Pray for joy and wisdom as the team moves on to translating the final, most difficult books.
-
Praise God that Ignacio and Luth are following Christ’s example of sacrifice so that others can know the truth.
