Majang of Ethiopia

About 85% of the 40,000 Majang population claims affiliation with Christian churches. But local church leaders want to see their people develop deep roots in God’s Word. So in 2009 a translation project was born, making it The Seed Company’s 500th! Yosef Kalakun, who speaks Majang, has proven to be a gifted translator.

The team will complete the New Testament and portions of Genesis by 2014. And with the support of the local church, the team will be prepared to continue with Old Testament translation after this phase.
