Lubwisi of Uganda

The Babwisi people who speak the Lubwisi language live on the western slopes and plains of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains. They have traditionally lived as subsistence farmers, but some grow cash crops like cocoa, coffee and rice. Years of fighting between rebel and government soldiers have taken their toll on the Babwisi, as have famine, poverty and HIV/AIDS.

  • 1 Corinthians is now ready for the last stages of production. Pray that the Lord will give the translators an extra measure of wisdom and direction as they labor on this challenging book.

  • Pray that printing of the 5 “T” books of the Bible, Philemon and James will go smoothly and that they’ll be widely read and change lives.

  • Praise God that Lubwisi speakers are showing an interest in learning to read their language through literacy classes.

  • Thank the Lord for providing two motorcycles for the literacy workers. Pray for His protection upon them.
