Logo of the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Civil war has taken its toll on the daily life of the Logo people—who number about 200,000. It’s hard to know what they struggle with more: physical or spiritual needs.
Since the project’s start in 2000, the Logoti team members—Aguma, Adora and new translator, Madrakele—have shown remarkable spiritual maturity and deep commitment even through severe trials. They plan to complete the New Testament and portions of the Old Testament by 2014. As well as tragedies from the war, old patterns of sorcery and ancestor worship stand to be transformed by the gospel.
-
Praise God for protecting the team and for providing financially and spiritually for the translators.
-
Pray for a new literacy program based on Logo materials, especially those of freshly translated Scriptures.
-
Pray for Aguma, Adora and Madrakele as they and their families adjust to a new location for the translation work.
