Lis Ma Ron of Nigeria

The Lis Ma Ron people have been subsistence farmers for generations. Half of all Lis Ma Ron speakers claim to follow Christ, but the growing popularity of a legalistic religious sect is a concern. Christian leaders see a need for well-founded biblical teaching for those within the church and evangelism for those outside. The Lis Ma Ron team includes two full-time translators and others who are part-time.

  • Praise God that Matthew and Mark’s Gospels have been drafted. Pray that drafting of Romans will be completed without obstacles.

  • Thank the Lord that portions of Luke are now in the hands of the local people and are having a mighty effect. Pray for the team as they prepare the whole book for publication soon. Pray that many Lis ma Ron speakers will better understand Jesus through having Luke in their heart language.

  • Pray that God will heal the project coordinator of a heart condition he suffers from.

  • Praise God for the helpful training that the team has received. Pray that their relationship with the Nigeria Bible Translation Trust will continue to be a blessing. And pray that the local government and pastors will be supportive of the work.
