Las Flores of Mexico
The believers in the local Assemblies of God church are interested in getting the Scriptures in their own language. Cecilia, a nurse, has helped in initial translation work over the past four years, on her own time. Her mom, a frail but determined woman, has helped distribute the book and cassette tape of Jonah, taking them around to her friends to hear. This book and a summary of Genesis 1-11 have been well received among the believers. It has been surprising how readily the speakers of Las Flores tackle reading their language. A sense of pride pervades the Las Flores community.

Translator Gulmaro continues to review individual books of the Las Flores New Testament with other mother-tongue speakers in the local community and to revise them as needed. Pray that Gulmaro, translator Cecy and others will promote use of the available translated Scripture portions and for God to be honored.

Keep praying for Gulmaro’s brother, who continues to experience serious mental illness.

The entire book of Romans was recorded and edited and is now ready for distribution. Pray that God will use the clear message of Romans in the Las Flores language to touch the hearts of many people.

The Gospel of John in the Las Flores language (which has been available in audio format) is being prepared for printing and should be ready by now for distribution. Pray for great reception and impact.
