Kosarek of Southeast Asia
The gospel has been preached among the 6,000 Kosarek people for over 30 years. And yet today, the people’s worldview remains largely unchanged as they continue to worship spirits. They truly do not understand what freedom and joy God offers them!
That’s why they need to hear God speak their heart language. So in 2009, mother-tongue translators began translating Genesis, to provide their people with an accurate picture of God’s character, Creator and Sustainer. Now the team’s working through Exodus and Acts. This initial project ends in 2011.
-
Pray for lead translator Yesaya who’s translating Exodus. He doesn’t get the support from his family and community that he really needs.
-
Pray for Mike, the translation advisor, and his family as they balance personal, furlough and project responsibilities.
-
Pray that the Kosarek people will assume a real ownership of the Bible translation. Mike meets with the church leaders in April.
