Kenyan Sign Language

Of the approximately 200,000 Deaf Kenyans, only about 10 percent know Jesus as Savior. People would say, “I don’t understand the Bible. This is too hard! Why do I have to be able to read to know God?” But now many are coming to Christ as they view the first DVD set of Scriptures in Kenyan Sign Language, completed in early 2010.

Deaf Kenyan translators are supported by Deaf Opportunity Outreach International (DOOR) and The Seed Company. Their next goals are to create two more sets of Scriptures on DVD by 2012, after just starting in 2009!

  • Praise God that, for the first time, Deaf people in Kenya have portions of the Bible in their own sign language, complete with study tools.

  • Pray that more copies can be produced to meet the high demand for these Bible stories on DVD for the Deaf.

  • Pray that Mission Deaf Fellowship of Kenya will reach many for Christ using the recently launched DVD Bible story set How to Know God.
