Kambari of Nigeria

On February 10 we prayed for the Kambari cluster. As the three teams get close to publishing New Testaments, they are moving right along by starting the Old Testament. They will translate key books like Genesis and Exodus to answer the questions: Where did man come from? What is the character of God like? What does He require of human beings? Why do human beings need a Savior?

They will translate other portions, such as minor prophetic books, to establish a biblical basis for marriage, demonstrate the results of corruption and offer leadership models. The Old Testament also resonates with
people of the other major faith, providing a bridge to help people understand the message of the New Testament. They plan to complete these Old Testament portions this year!

  • Praise God! The Salka and Agwara teams drafted and checked the rest of Genesis (chapters 34-50) and then spent a two-day reviewing session with consultant Pat.

  • Keep praying for Auna translators, John Isaiah and Steve Luka, as they finish up the New Testament, before starting on the Old Testament.

  • Pray that God’s Word will go out soon, as the teams keep a steady, quick pace, translating about 700 verses a week!
