Grasslands of Mexico

Good news spreads—just years ago Pastor Alfonso got to hear a sampling of Scriptures in his Grasslands mother tongue on audio tape, and he was astonished. From that point forward, he dedicated himself to translating the entire New Testament as well as Old Testament portions for his people, who today number about 18,000. Several others have since caught the vision and joined the team of translators.

About half the population attends Protestant churches, while another majority attends Catholic churches. Many are waiting for the Scriptures. Particularly, many are hopeful about audiovisual materials to bridge the literacy gap, though literacy programs are in full swing.

  • Pray that God will direct the team to choose the right people to be the voices for dramatized Scripture recordings.

  • Pray for 35 churches to enthusiastically support plans for how to encourage congregations to use the Scriptures once they’re published.
