Gamo, Gofa and Dawro peoples of Ethiopia

The Gamo, Gofa and Dawro people groups (together forming a population of over 1.2 million) speak similar languages, yet each needs its own Bible translation. A unique partnership between the three teams, their local churches, The Seed Company and the JESUS Film Project is operating to translate the New Testament and the “JESUS” film in all three languages.

Many are waiting. Campus Crusade and several church denominations in Ethiopia will use the Scriptures as tools for evangelism and discipleship.

  • Praise God that the work is nearly finished! The New Testaments are in the last stages and will be dedicated to the people by Christmas 2010 or early 2011.

  • Please pray that typesetting of the Gamo New Testament will be finished this month.

  • Pray for Word for the World as they work to detect any errors before printing.
