Ethiopia NT Cluster
1,236,000 speakers – 3 languages – The Goma, Darwo and the Gofa with over a million speakers, are eager to have the Scriptures in their languages. They are all confident they will be ready to publish in 2008 or 9. They are working on the NT and portions of the OT. The Seed Company is in partnership with Word for the World. JESUS Film People are also waiting for the translation so can make films etc. The 3 languages are linguistically related and are located near one another. They plan to meet together every 3 months.

The three Ethiopia Cluster teams (Gamo, Gofa and Dawro) are excited that the entire New Testament has been translated, checked, translated back into literal English and evaluated by consultants in each of their languages. Praise God that the New Testament in these three languages is near to completion.

Pray that the teams will catch any errors or unclear renderings in their translations. Pray that God will protect and give good health to the translators and their families as they finish this last phase of the Gamo, Gofa and Dawro New Testaments.

Praise the Lord for the good progress of the Dawro team on completing four major translation steps for Genesis, Exodus, Ruth, Nehemiah, Esther, Ezra 1-6 and Jonah. Pray that each stage in the translation process will bring the team closer to achieving the desired results.
