Ehugbo of Nigeria
God has blessed the Ehugbo people with many presentations of the gospel through the years and it’s possible to find Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian and smaller Christian churches throughout their community. But the work of sharing God’s love is far from over.
Because there’s no Ehugbo translation of the Scriptures, many people remain confused about what faith looks like in daily life. Many church-goers still also practice traditional African religion, continuing practices like the appeasing of ancestral spirits. “How great is God if He can’t speak our language?” some ladies recently asked.
The Ehugbo translators are eager to translate Scriptures that will provide a more complete understanding of faith in Christ and God’s power.
- Pray for the Ehugbo translators as they start this three year project that builds on previous efforts.
- Pray for ultimate success in translating the Scriptures and drawing people to worship God alone.
- Pray that God would continue to reveal Himself to the ladies who are wondering if God is truly powerful.
