East Papua Storying Cluster

The gospel has been proclaimed in this country for well over a century, and while many today profess Christianity, for most true life transformation is slow in coming. This project is uniquely geared to jump start the people’s faith by communicating on the heart level. And that happens through storytelling, the people’s most natural way of sharing truth.

From 2010 to 2012 local translators craft 30 to 50 accurate, compelling mother-tongue Bible stories, which they can retell in their communities. This project has the potential of impacting 40,000 New Guineans, from eight languages in Milne Bay Province.

  • Praise God that He gave New Guineans the gift of storytelling!

  • Pray for the safety of the translators and their families. They’ll be better able to focus on their work when they know their families are secure.

  • Pray that the Bible stories will spread like wildfire.
