E Congo Genesis Cluster
7 languages working in Workshop situation. Country conditions - civil war where 50 million Congolese were affected and 3 million lost their lives. Workshop approach based on LP workshop model to translate to completion the five T’s in a short period of time for four language groups, impacting 400,000 population. This model will enable translators to gain valuable experience for translating independently in country. Life is still very unstable in that area.

The fourth and final workshop for the six Genesis for the Masses language teams was held for three weeks in Uganda. Praise God that the six translation teams felt a wonderful solidarity of purpose, brotherly love, forbearance and joy at the workshop.

The teams printed and bound trial editions of Genesis and took them back to their villages. Pray that native speakers who receive copies of Genesis will read them prayerfully and carefully so that any needed changes can be made.

The teams’ schedule at the workshop was very busy. There they received further training in computer skills with special focus on the editing program Paratext. Pray that the Lord will guide the teams and consultants as they put their skills to future use in Bible translation.
