Dhao of Timor
7,000 speakers who are farmers who desire to worship in their heart language. Living on the small windswept island of Ndao in the Timor region of Indonesia, the Dhao people were first introduced to Christ in the early 1700s. Today all Dhao speakers consider themselves to be Christians, but as yet don’t have the Scriptures in their own language. But it’s coming pretty soon, PTL.

Praise the Lord for a great milestone—the translation team’s completion of the New Testament in draft form. But lots of work remains to be done in preparing a number of books for publication. Pray for stamina and enthusiasm.

Some of the team participated in the training workshop for the newest version of the OurWord software program for mother-tongue translators. Thank God for this very helpful computer assistance to the translation.

The team plans to launch the Scripture volume that contains 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus and James. Please pray for the scheduling of this event and that it will be an encouraging and profitable time. Pray also that travel to and from Ndao will be safe.
