Daily Prayer: the Ninzo people of Nigeria
About 35 percent of the Ninzo people consider themselves Christians, but because they do not have the Scriptures in a language they really understand, very few people actually follow Biblical principles in their daily lives. The Ninzo people’s traditional ruler practices a major world religion. However, he challenged Ninzo Christians to start a Bible translation and literacy project! The team will work with outside consultants and with Ninzo speakers to verify the accuracy and understandability of the text.
- Praise God that the consultant’s evaluation of Acts has been done, in answer to prayer. Pray that the unique missionary message of Acts will inspire local people’s fervent devotion to the gospel, both in sharing it and living it out
- Pray for the Ninzo team as they strive to get 1 and 2 Corinthians and Hebrews ready for the consultant’s check by typing into the computer as the team revises these portions containing deep theological ideas.
- Pray that God will bless the team’s efforts to implement the ideas that the Ninzo participants learned at the Scripture-use workshop so they won’t face their Scriptures lying in storage somewhere.
