Daily Prayer: the Magu peope of India
In recent years, nearly 60 people have decided to leave behind their worship of spirits and follow Christ thanks to the work of Indian missionaries from another region. As part of this ongoing work, Indian missionaries are working with Magu people to translate the New Testament.
Like the people of the New Testament, persecution is a part of coming to faith. In a recent report we shared that when unbelievers were carrying idols through one village square, 18 believing families refused to follow the custom of washing the legs of those who carried idols. This was very upsetting to other villagers, who subsequently beat them. This was the second time they’d been assaulted for their faith.
- Pray that these followers of Christ will remain strong in their faith amidst the persecution they’re receiving.
- Pray for the translation team as they test their work on the book of Romans in the community. Pray that God's powerful truth will be an encouragement to them.
