Daily Prayer: the Dhao-speaking people of Timor

7,000 speakers who are farmers who desire to worship in their heart language. Living on the small windswept island of Ndao in the Timor region of Indonesia, the Dhao people were first introduced to Christ in the early 1700s. Today all Dhao speakers consider themselves to be Christians, but as yet don’t have the Scriptures in their own language. But it’s coming.

  • Praise God for the careful work by the team and for the encouragement they received from the consultant, who made very few changes and told them they were doing excellent, careful translation!
  • Pray that the Dhao advisor, who also assists other teams in the region, will be able to schedule time to check the exegesis of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians & Philemon in the near future.
  • Pray for encouragement and perseverance for the team. Pray for their families, their health and travel, especially during the “wave” season when trips to Timor from their islands area are necessary.
