Daily Prayer: the Bilha-speaking people of South Asia
736,000 speakers in a highly organized society with strong animist beliefs. The Bilha, a very cohesive, self-governing language group, live within a country dominated by a major world religion. Despite this most of the Bilha practice animistic beliefs and focus their energy on appeasing and worshipping the ancestor spirits. Though the country remains largely inaccessible to foreign missionaries, some outside help will allow the translators to complete the New Testament in only a few years and is eagerly anticipated by the local church. Funding needed $4,425.00
- Thank the Lord for the Bilha team’s perseverance in translating the Scriptures into the mother tongue. Pray that the translators can complete community testing of Hebrews. Pray that during the testing process people will hear and believe the truths in this important book.
- Praise God that the minister of education is promoting literacy in the Bilha language and other minority languages. Pray that many Bilha will become literate.
