Daily Prayer: the Amiya-speaking people of West Africa

Over 2 million nomadic herdsmen of the Sahara. Amiya society was largely converted to a major religion of the area by the 11th century. In reality, the Amiya practice a folk version of that religion with animistic undertones. Christian influence is minimal and the Amiya consider Christianity "second best". There are very few known Christians among the Amiya. This project is fully partnered.

  • In October 2000, the team reviewed their first New Testament book (Matthew) with their consultant. Seven years later, in the same month, the last book of the New Testament (Revelation) was also checked. To God be the glory!
  • Pray for a settling of all issues regarding publication of the Amiya New Testament—the next step!
  • Recent political developments in the language area aren’t encouraging signs at all, especially for the believers. Pray that God will change things around.
