Strong political and religious opposition during the last few years has hampered Bible translation into many languages of South East Asia. Leaders at a large Christian university, together with leaders of several major denominations in the region, have indicated their readiness to assist in this project. This project will enable translation work in four languages. It’s hoped this work will also encourage other work in the area.

  • The Wolola, Kokoan and Nune teams will be having the book of Acts published soon. The Jomana already has it. Pray that the print shop will make high quality copies of Acts in a timely manner.
  • The Jomana team did further comprehension testing of Matthew, Luke, James and 1 John in the local community, thus upgrading the translation with the help of native speakers.
  • They also tested and revised the JESUS film script, which is based on Luke, and had a consultant review it. Producing the JESUS film in Jomana has significant implications, since the language is spoken over a vast area by an estimated 2 million people. Pray for recording and distribution of the JESUS film.
