Daily Prayer: the Isoma-speaking people of India
150,000 speakers living in a remote farming society who are beginning to turn to Christ. The people are traditionally animist, but through missionary efforts a small, growing church has been planted. A dedicated husband and wife team live among the people translating the Bible. The translated Scripture portions have been well received among Christians. Praise God, the project is fully funded.
- Praise God that the team is faithfully striving to produce a translation of His Word, carefully testing it among the Isoma people so that it will serve the present and future generations of Isoma speakers. Pray that the translators will have wisdom to assess local people’s feedback during Scripture testing to determine what changes they need to make to the translation.
- The team is putting all New Testament books into a format to prepare for final publication using the Paratext computer program. This tool is helping them check for consistency in spelling. Pray that the technical advantage offered by the Paratext computer program will make a significant difference in both speed and quality of the work
- Praise God for using the Sephas in great ways to further the task of Bible translation and literacy in the country. Pray that the Lord will give the Sephas safe and uneventful travel in their work. Pray that they can complete their translation objectives for the Isoma people.
