Daily Prayer: the Helong-speaking people of Timor
20,000 speakers, predominately Christian farmers who desire to worship God in their language. They live in isolated villages on the island of Timor and on the smaller island of Semau in the Timor region. In many ways they still follow their traditional practices and have retained their language. God has called a well-educated Helong speaking pastor to be the primary translator, along with other pastors who have been released by their churches to help translate on a part-time basis. They plan to translate the New Testament and Genesis. Project Fully Funded!
- Praise God for the encouraging time with the consultants and the good quality translation being done by the team. Pray for continued good progress, and praise the Lord that team members work so well together.
- Thank the Lord that the Helong team is working hard to translate Scripture in a way that is both meaningful and natural for the native speakers.
- This month, the team is supposed to travel to Darwin for checking sessions with the project advisor. Please pray that their visas were completed easily and in time.
