Amarasi
While literacy is widespread in the Amarasi area, most reading and writing has been limited to the national language of Indonesian. Today over 99% of the Amarasi people call themselves Christian, and 75,000 of them claim membership in the major Protestant denomination. But in order to grow in their faith, these believers need Scripture they can understand. This project will provide the New Testament and Genesis for Amarasi people in their heart language. Translators will use the related language of Kupang Malay as a source text.
