If your family and friends had no Bible, what portions of Scripture should be translated first? It’s a question we often ask ourselves as we help national translators and other organizations develop translation projects. The answer isn’t always as obvious as it sounds.
In some language communities, audio recordings of core Bible stories are needed. In others, teams translate the Book of Luke and a script for the JESUS film. The stories of the Old Testament prophets or the genealogies of Matthew are a bridge for people to understand the gospel in yet other language groups.
The common goal is to clearly listen to the local believers, try creative new strategies and bring news of God’s love to people as quickly as possible.
This issue we explore creative strategies to deliver the gospel, share stories of God’s work in Asia and tell the story of how young campers from Woodlands Camp in Georgia are changing life for three different people groups.
