Tyap NT

Tyap

The Tyap-speaking Kataf people have a thirst for the Bible in their language. Two previous translation efforts met with limited success – the second resulting in a draft of 60 percent of the New Testament.

Seed Company partners will bolster these earlier efforts by the Kataf church, providing computers, training materials, visits by experienced consultants and training sessions. We trust that this help, accompanied by much prayer, will make this third effort to translate the New Testament and Old Testament portions a success.

Kataf women and the poor are expected to be some of the big winners when this project is complete. They often lack the education to understand Bible translations available in the regional language, Hausa. This project will open up the possibility of personal Bible study and spiritual growth.
