San Marcial NT

The San Marcial people live in the relatively isolated mountains of Southern Mexico. Most of the people provide for their families by growing corn, beans and squash.
A young man named Gregorio worked for several years with a Wycliffe team to translate the Scriptures into his own language, which is closely related to San Marcial. When he realized that the San Marcial people would need a translation too, he felt God calling him to translate for them. He and his wife began living among the San Marcial people in 1996, organizing and heading up a translation team. Gregorio is using the New Testament in his own language as the source text. He is also consulting with outside linguists on a regular basis.
