Quechua OT Cluster | Margos
This language group is participating in the Quechua OT Cluster project.
Margos is one of seven related languages within the Quechua group of Peru. There are approximately 120,000 speakers of Margos without the Old Testament. The project uses Computer Assisted Related Language Adaptation (CARLA) software to adapt a completed draft of the Old Testament from one of the other languages into a rough draft of Margos. This will in turn facilitate the adaptation into other languages. CARLA expedites much of the work formerly done by translators while ensuring accuracy and readability of the Scripture through a series of reviewing sessions with the community and trained consultants. By the end of 2010, each of the seven languages within the Quechua OT Cluster should have a completed draft of the Old Testament.
