Mwaghavul OT | Mwaghavul

The Mwaghavul people have a long history of monotheism, but they never knew how to communicate with the God they believed in, until they received the Gospel in their mother tongue. They received the New Testament many years ago and now long for the whole Bible in their own language.

This project will help the Mwaghaval team to translate and print an Old Testament. It will also help them to produce audio versions of the entire Bible, to provide a catalyst for revival. A number of nearby people-groups could also receive the Scriptures in their own language for the first time, through computer-assisted translation, by using the Mwaghavul translation as the source text.

    The Mwaghavul are eager to learn the Old Testament foundational truths.

    We are Christ’s ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, “Be reconciled to God!” (2 Corinthians 5:20, NLT)

    Although the Mwaghavul speakers of Nigeria have a long history of monotheism, they never knew how to communicate with the God they believed in, until they received the Gospel in their mother tongue. The majority of the Mwaghavul are Christians. Traditional African animistic beliefs have almost disappeared among them.
