Strong political and religious opposition during the last few years has hampered Bible translation into many languages of South East Asia. Now, however, God has raised up mother-tongue translators willing to step out in faith to bring this dream to fulfillment. Translators from four different languages in the northern region of one SE Asian country are now moving forward. Church leaders in the area recognize that spiritual maturity can only develop when the message of the Bible is understood at a deep level. Leaders at a large Christian university, together with leaders of several major denominations in the region, are assisting in this project. This project is enabling translation work in four languages. It’s hoped this work will also encourage other work in the area.
