Kibaku NT | Kibaku

The Kibaku people are farmers in the northeastern most state of Nigeria. They manage a living from their land, but poverty plagues them. About 98% of the Kibaku population claim faith in Christ and the government offers Christian instruction in school at the insistence of parents. However, the Bible isn’t available in the Kibaku language and most young people can’t read other available translations.

The culture is shifting from traditional rulers to new political structures, resulting in some turmoil. People are also confused about how to deal with emerging social problems. Pastors see these challenges and realize that a Kibaku translation of the Bible would address many of these issues and provide the tools they need to minister to their society.
