In the scattered Pacific islands, Christianity is a way of life for many people. This project will help churches—some 100 years old—finally access God’s Word in the language each people group speaks. Project personnel, working with local Christian leaders, will help the local church translate remaining Scripture needs in the mother tongue with a focus on local needs.

Isles of the Sea
The psalmist writes: “The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice” (Psalm 97:1). Over 200 years ago, many islanders of the Pacific first heard the gospel in French Polynesia. Widespread revival occurred as most turned their hearts toward God. Yet the language barrier continues to hamper true understanding, specifically of the message of God’s grace. Many have simply replaced the rules for appeasing animistic spirits with new ones to try to please God. - Nov04
