Ichen-Ibaas NT
The Ichen people are farmers in northeastern Nigeria. They make a living from their land, but poverty plagues them. In spite of that, local churches are highly motivated to complete the translation. About 50% of the Ichen population claim faith in Christ. Having access to God’s Word in their language will allow for greater impact in discipleship. It will also help the community preserve their language, promote unity among them as a people and give them tools for evangelism. Since Ichen is related to two other area languages which already have Scripture, computer adaptation should accelerate the project.
