Project Profile

Hoen NT

The Hoen people live in a South Asian country that is generally hostile to missionary activity. They practice a traditional animistic religion, attributing power to the spirits of ancestors, trees and other objects they believe control their lives. There are about 500 Christians, both Protestants and Catholics, who worship in eight congregations. The growing Hoen church is asking for Scripture in their own language. Unfortunately, militants from the majority religion violently oppose the spread of Christianity.
