Dhao (Endari) NT

Living on the small windswept island of Ndao in the Timor region of Indonesia, the Dhao people were first introduced to Christ in the early 1700s. Today all Dhao speakers consider themselves to be Christians, but they still don’t have the Scriptures in their own language. This will soon change because a translation project is underway that will provide the New Testament and some Old Testament portions in the Dhao language.

Reverend Dr. Ayub Ranoh M.Th., Ph.D., who was born on the island of Dhao, is responsible for coordinating the translation program. With Scripture in their own language, the Dhao church will be strengthened and individual believers will be encouraged to develop a deeper, more personal walk with the Lord. Additional literacy activities will enable the people to use these translated materials effectively.
