Branchu NT
Branchu speakers inhabit a mountainous region in South Asia. Most support their families by growing rice on rugged, terraced hillsides, but a considerable number of Branchu men work in cities or in the military. In recent years, God has opened doors to translation work through the Branchu people’s renewed interest in their traditional culture and language. Though the cultural revival is strongly anti-Christian, it has motivated Christian believers to use this unique window to reach the Branchu people with God’s Word in their own language.
Branchu translators have now drafted all of the New Testament, and the books are in various stages of checking and revision. Some have already been distributed in trial form. The team is also distributing some gospel tracts, the JESUS film, a Branchu hymnal and literacy materials.
