Bitoh NT

The Bitoh people live in the harsh mountains of a country in South Asia. Every year from November to June the people shut themselves up in their houses during the long, fierce winter. Though they open their homes in warmer weather, they have been shut up in a spiritual darkness year round for generations in bondage to a major religion.
A translation team came to the area in October 2002. Though people in the area strongly oppose the Christian message, the people welcome Christians who are engaged in educational and medical work. The team plans to build a foundation for Bible translation by developing some social programs, including literacy efforts that will both help the people and bring them closer to accepting God’s Word in their own language. Translators hope that Christ will eventually free many of them from the darkness that now rules their lives.
