Aramaic M-North OT | Aramaic M-North

The Aramaic M-North people take pride in their long Christian history. They have a Bible, called the Peshitta that dates back thousands of years. Although they revere the Word of God, the language of the Peshitta is no longer understandable. Christians appreciate what the Scriptures are–the Word of God–but have minimal comprehension of what it says or how it affects their daily lives.

Clergy members are eager for the completion of the Old Testament in their language. They’ve already welcomed the New Testament, which was translated in 2008, into their religious life. Christians in 13 different churches now look forward to seeing their culture reclaimed for Christ.

The JESUS film opened the door for evangelism and discipleship. Though some of these people are devotees of another major religion, both Christians and non-believers are hungry to know more about the Jesus in the film.

    Aramaic M-North of East Mediterranean

    Jesus is becoming more visible in this region known for religious strife. With the “JESUS” film and the New Testament now translated in the Aramaic M-North language, people are truly wondering, Who is this Jesus? After all, much of Jesus’ life on earth happened in their part of the world and they can relate to certain cultural traditions that continue to this day.
