Abakaliki Bible Cluster | Ezaa
This language group is participating in the Abakaliki Bible Cluster project.
The Ezaa people live in fertile southeastern Nigeria. The area is rich in mineral resources, and the ancestors of today’s inhabitants developed bronze-casting techniques over a thousand years ago. The creativity and technical skill demonstrated by those early African metal crafters is recognized as among the finest in the history of the world.
In the early 1970s, Ezaa believers joined with two neighboring people groups and with Swiss Bible translators Paul and Inge Meier to translate the Bible into Ezaa. That pioneering work grew into a cooperative translation effort that today includes three closely related language groups. This team of Nigerian translators, local churches, and translation consultants is working together to bring God’s Word to all these languages, but they need financial resources and prayer support to help them get the job done.
