The Seed Company collects information through our websites at several points. We collect the following information about primary visitors: contact information including name and address, giving investments and history, project and prayer interests and other preference information.

We may also collect personally identifiable information which our users divulge about other people, such as referrals or gift purchases. The Seed Company does not actively market to children, and we never knowingly ask a child under 13 to divulge personal information.

We collect general data that is not personally identifiable information like your IP address when completing forms online. This is done for verification of the person completing forms in the event of any fraud issues occurring.

We collect this information through registration forms, giving of gifts, Google Analytic tracking, automatic logging files, and so on. The information is collected voluntarily and involuntarily.

Voluntary information means user information provided through forms including names and addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and investments for online giving or prayer partnerships. Involuntary information means email statistics including emails opened and email click throughs, number of visitors to a webpage and how long each visitor stayed at our websites.

To receive our products and make contributions, some information is mandatory in order to process payments and provide historical giving statements or to use other features of the websites. Other information we request is optional. We do not store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers.

We do employ cookies. A cookie is a small text file that our web server places on a user’s computer hard drive to be a unique identifier. Cookies enable The Seed Company to track usage patterns and deliver customized content to users. Our cookies do not collect personally identifiable information.

Part II. Information Usage

The information collected by The Seed Company will be used for communications between you and us. Users who provide information may receive project updates, email announcements, e-newsletters, periodic mailings and/or special event notifications.

We will not share data with third party organizations.

Our websites occasionally offer blogs, forums, message boards or other interactive features. Please be advised that information posted in these venues becomes public knowledge.

The Seed Company maintains the accuracy of our information through user form submissions and SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encrypted user account webpages. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before it is sent it over the Internet and then unencrypted on the server.

We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our sites that is only accessible by certain authorized Seed Company staff members.
