Momentum Fund
The goal of the Momentum Fund is to leave no people group behind as we move towards Vision 2025—to see Bible translation started for every language group that needs one by 2025. It allows us to transfer financial resources to projects that need a little extra to make ends meet. The Momentum Fund is critical to meeting the opportunities of the next 1,000 language groups!
The Seed Company serves as a catalyst in making the Bible available to people groups without it. By bringing together many partners—financial investors, prayer supporters, national colleagues, and like-minded organizations—we are able to leverage resources for accelerated Bible translation. As part of our strategy The Seed Company focuses on results-based Scripture translation projects. To date we have impacted over 400 languages in 55 countries through results-based Scripture translation. Most of our established Bible translation projects have solid connections with prayer and financial partners. However, with over 220 projects running concurrently, about ten to fifteen percent of the translation projects face partnership challenges in prayer and finances. A number of reasons contribute to this partnership challenge. For instance, high security concerns can make publicity difficult for building some partnerships; the weakened dollar sometimes falls short of budgeted costs; civil wars and political unrest may cause projects to be prolonged; unfortunate calamities like fire, illness and even death are realities that can deter the work. In spite of the challenges, the teams want desperately to move ahead…to carry on the important work of translating the Scriptures in their language. We have a great track record and wish to keep the momentum of each Bible translation project moving forward despite the sometimes exceptional challenges.
